Common Questions About Auto Service

Find answers to the most frequently asked questions about our services and policies.

Do I need an appointment, or do you accept walk-ins?
+
We prefer appointments to ensure we have the right parts and time dedicated to your vehicle. However, we do accept walk-ins when our schedule permits. Same-day service is often available for routine work like oil changes and inspections. Calling ahead at (208) 784-1181 is the best way to ensure quick service.
How long will my service take?
+
Most routine services (oil change, inspection) are completed in 30-60 minutes. More extensive work (brakes, tires, alignment) typically takes 2-4 hours. When you book an appointment, we'll give you a time estimate based on your specific needs. We respect your time and strive to complete work as efficiently as possible without cutting corners.
Do you offer estimates?
+
Yes! We provide free written estimates for all work over $50. For smaller jobs, we can often quote pricing over the phone if you can describe the issue. We believe in transparency — you'll never be surprised by a bill you didn't approve.
What forms of payment do you accept?
+
We accept cash, all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), and debit cards. We also accept personal checks for established customers with prior approval.
Do you work on all vehicle makes and models?
+
Our technicians are trained on domestic and imported vehicles. We regularly service Ford, Chevrolet, GM, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and many other brands. If you drive something unusual, call us first to confirm our experience with your vehicle type.
What is your warranty policy?
+
We offer a 12-month, 12,000-mile warranty on parts and labor for most repairs. If any issue arises from our work within that period, we'll inspect and fix it at no charge. Manufacturer warranties apply to certain parts (typically 2-3 years) and are honored according to the supplier's terms.
Can I wait while my vehicle is being serviced?
+
Absolutely! We have a comfortable waiting area with free Wi-Fi, coffee, and water. For longer services, we can also provide a loaner vehicle (subject to availability) or arrange transportation within our service area.
How often should I change my oil?
+
Modern engines typically recommend 5,000-7,500 miles for synthetic oil and 3,000-5,000 miles for conventional oil. However, severe driving conditions (short trips, dusty roads, towing) may require more frequent changes. Check your owner's manual for the manufacturer's recommendation. We'll remind you when your next service is due.
How do I know if my brakes need service?
+
Warning signs include squealing or grinding noises, a soft or spongy brake pedal, the car pulling to one side when braking, vibration in the steering wheel, or the brake warning light illuminating. If you notice any of these, schedule an inspection promptly. We provide free brake inspections.
When should I replace my tires?
+
Tires should be replaced when tread depth reaches 2/32 of an inch. Most tires have built-in wear indicators. Also replace tires if you see cracks, bulges, or uneven wear patterns. Inspect your tires monthly for visible damage. We provide free tire inspections.
